ALERT: Beware of Fraudulent SBA Grant/Loan Offers
We’ve received reports of scammers targeting small businesses with fake offers of SBA grants and loans. These scams can steal your personal information and even lead to identity theft. These fraudulent emails deceptively use the logos of America’s SBDC and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and are being sent from the address: ‘apply@smallbusinessdevelopmentcenter.online’
Please note:
- The SBA does not send unsolicited emails offering grants or loans.
- Legitimate SBA communications will come from official @sba.gov email addresses.
- Be cautious of unsolicited emails requesting sensitive information or requiring payment for a grant or loan application.
If you receive a suspicious email offering an SBA grant or loan, it’s crucial that you do not respond or provide any personal information. If you have doubts about the legitimacy of a communication supposedly from the SBA or SBDC, please contact us for verification. You can also forward the email to the FTC at https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/ to help track scammers.
